Creating a Fiscal Calendar

Fiscal calendars can help when your fiscal year dates aren't starting on January 1st, and ending on December 31. You can set your start and end up however you'd like. It can start and end mid-year. 

To get started, click the "+ Source" button and select "Fiscal Calendar."


a) This is the "vanity" name for your entry.

b) Select the start date for the period.

c) Select the end date for the period.

d) This is the grouping for the quarter. In this example, you'll see "4-4-5", which means the quarter will consist of 4 weeks, 4 weeks, and then 5 weeks.

e) Usually the end date year will be used for fiscal year. If you'd like to use the start-date year instead, check this box. 

f) The "Extended fiscal calendar" option add addiation fields columns related to "current date" calculations. Additional columns:

  • loaded_at_date: current date
  • loaded_at_next_date: current date's "next date"
  • loaded_at_year: current date's "year",
  • loaded_at_fiscal_year_start_date: current date's "fiscal calendar - start of the year"
  • loaded_at_fiscal_year_end_date: current date's "fiscal calendar - end of the year"
  • loaded_at_day: current date's "day"
  • loaded_at_week: current date's "week"
  • loaded_at_quarter: current date's "quarter"
  • loaded_at_quarter_week: current date's "quarter's week"
  • loaded_at_month: current date's "quarter's month"
  • loaded_at_month_week: current date's "month's week"
  • loaded_at_delta: current date's "delta"
  • loaded_at_week_starting: current date's "week starts on"
  • loaded_at_week_ending: current date's "week ends on"

You can also delete existing entries, or create a new one.

When you're done, you can click "Save."
